Within weeks of its release the iPad has dominated the mobile Internet market. Stats in from MotleyHealth, one of the Internet’s leading health and fitness websites, show that the iPad is already accounting for 44% of mobile Internet traffic to non-tech websites.
The latest figures for mobile Internet browsing:
- iPad 43.95%
- iPhone 22.46%
- iPod 11.23%
- Android 8.01%
- SymbianOS 6.05%
- BlackBerry 3.03%
- Windows 3.03%
- Samsung 0.88%
- Sony 0.49%
- Nokia 0.29%
- Danger Hiptop 0.20%
- LG 0.20%
- PalmOS 0.10%
- Vodafone 0.10%
Not only is the iPad being used for 44% of mobile Internet, Apple products are accountable for almost 78% of all mobile devices. Window’s is in a very sorry 7th place and Google’s Android is making steady progress as it starts to entice more customers with its competitive pricing and features.
What with Apple dominating the mobile technology market and Google dominating search and advertising and moving into desktop territory with the Chrome OS and web browsers and the ever improving Google Docs, there seems little hope left for Windows now.
